Art Not About Talent

The concept of talent makes it seem that art is for a select few only

The people I did not even know would often send me pictures of their work and asked for my opinion. I remember doing pretty much the same thing many years ago. This is a very common thing to do. I think what it boils down to, at least it was for me when my teacher presented me with my latest effort in hopes of getting anointment large, is that we are basically asking, "Do we have any talent?" And often that means enough talent to become a professional artist, or at least, we are good enough to pursue this thing called painting, or are we just wasting our time?

It's the wrong question. In fact, I would say that if you ask a few artists master to confirm or deny your talent, you're in a pile of trouble because it means you do not get it. It's not about talent. Talent is a dirty word because it assumes that only a few are capable of when quite the opposite.

We Born Artist, It Does not Question Talent

Now, this is not to say that some people are not blessed with abilities that others do not have. Nor is it to say that if I were to judge a person's job, I will not draw conclusions about the current job, at least for My, bad or pretty good. Rather it is to say that we are born as a creative, courageous creatures. All of us. Each of us has all the gifts of nature that we tend to think is the province of only a few talented.

We are born as an artist. you are, at present, has the creative power of turning inside you. You know it as an impulse. Your challenge is always the same: it is take your chances.

This means that the task of teachers is to teach you a method that allows you to become more than you already are. This applies to release your gifts by teaching you how to find your gift. And at those times when you realize your ability - what the artist called the country a lot, you'll get the sensation, you will move, and work You will move others. It would be good.

You Lose What to Believe Artistic Talent

If, on the other hand, you believe that only a few can make art and it requires talent, you will always try to paint like, to meet some external standard of beyond you in an effort to gain validation from others - the gallery, selling, award. You will always self-correct, rather than being yourself. You will ask some painting master, "Do I measure up?"

Yes, it takes time and work, but realize more of what is inside of you is what it is all about. Do you respect your feelings? Do you value growth over the past several external measures? Can you let it go and move on? Can you peel all the layers that now cover the wonder of childhood? Did you know it is about getting into "state" more than it is about showing skills? If so, there's good news: You already exists. Show us. Show us what moves you. Drop a question of talent; you were born with the gift. Discover. express them. Then let the master look and asked, "How can I be more of who I am?"
